You’ve got resources. You’ve got smarts. You’ve got dreams.
But when it comes to money and investing… you’ve got questions.

What if you could discover answers in a community of women like you?

You can.

Come join a select group of dynamic women who strive to take charge of their money and use their resources for good. Women with Capital is a supportive, pitch-free community.

Taking charge of your money is life-changing.
Learning with others is inspiring and fun.

You will be learning from experts who have in-depth personal and professional experience tackling the very issues you are exploring.

In our series, we will have conversations about wealth, explore which values matter most to you and your family, and learn about the multitude of ways to invest with intention.

  • You will have the tools and confidence to make intentional choices about your investments.

  • You will know how to invest in alignment with your deepest values.

  • You will be inspired by a trusted circle of women with similar goals.

We believe smart investments allow you to take care of your financial future and support the change you want to see in the world.

Women with Capital is a good fit for you if you want to:

  • Amplify the good you are doing in the world using your personal and financial capital.

  • Better understand how your money is being invested and feel more confident about directing it .

  • Be part of a community of women where you can talk openly about wealth, get new ideas for high-impact investing and philanthropy, and receive unbiased advice and support from both instructors and members.

We believe that wealth can be used as a tool for transformative change in our families, communities and globally. For this reason, we seek out women who believe the status quo isn’t working and want to contribute to creating a more equitable and sustainable world.

Women With Capital is a fantastic community of women. Barbara has a knack for finding women from diverse backgrounds who have similar questions about investing/wealth management. Her educational program is the perfect blend of creative and analytical, where you dive deep into a breadth of topics but never get bored.

This community helped me become financially savvy not only because of the amazing instructors but mostly from having discussions about money that you can’t have with your friends and family. I highly recommend becoming a part of this group if you want to learn more about your finances or if you want to join a group of badass women.

I had been feeling unsettled and uninformed about my investments when I met Barbara and her brain trust at Women with Capital. After attending the educational series, I finally feel better about making value-based investments. When I first took over managing my family’s investments I looked for resources to educate myself. I was apprehensive about taking charge of our money. I couldn’t find anywhere to ask questions without getting a sales pitch. I needed a source of unbiased information I could use to make decisions of my own, based on my family’s specific needs.

I feel strongly that we can and should have both the information and the support to make healthy financial decisions.

I’m excited to share my process of education and empowerment, and provide resources, inspiration and a community of like-minded women to learn with.

How To Apply

The Women with Capital series will be offered next in September 2023. The group will be limited in size to ensure it is a place where everyone feels comfortable exploring topics around wealth and investing.

Eligibility

  1. To create a cohort of women with similar concerns, resources and interests, there is a minimum amount of assets we consider for eligibility to join. To protect members' privacy, we do not print a specific number. Please contact Barbara directly and she will be happy to share more information.

  2. Before the program begins, Barbara will have a conversation with each prospective participant about their interests, learning style and goals. Our aim is to create a safe community where members share similar interests in exploring wealth, investing and philanthropy and include women of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

  3. Since the benefits of being part of a learning community come with consistency, participants are expected to participate in each of the six initial educational sessions.

  4. Confidentiality is fundamental to the success of the program. Participants, expert instructors and guest speakers commit to maintaining absolute confidentiality. This trust forms the foundation of our work together.

Women with Capital gave me the time and tools to focus and organize my financial decision-making process. I met a new cohort of smart women who know how to have fun while learning together. It is helping me to ensure my investments and philanthropy are making the impact I want to see in the world.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does membership in Women with Capital include?

Most of all, membership means you are part of a community where smart, passionate, socially progressive women connect with and support each other in using our personal and financial capital for good.

Year-long membership benefits include:

  • Signature Educational Series: We’ll start off with six sessions in the fall with leading experts in the fields of psychology of wealth, impact investing, strategic philanthropy, and angel investing. During the year, we will have two additional momentum sessions just with your cohort members.

  • Guest Speaker Meetings where we have private discussions with pioneering women investors and philanthropists.

  • Annual Women with Capital Summit (NEW!): A daylong retreat focused on connection, inspiration and new insights.

  • Confidential Member Forum to ask others for personal recommendations, share successes and challenges.

  • Access to expert instructors and speakers who are enthusiastic about supporting you and your goals.

  • Membership in a powerful network of socially progressive women dedicated to making a difference.

What does it cost?

The year-long membership is $10,000 which includes the benefits listed above. We are a pitch-free zone and accordingly, pay our instructors and speakers for sharing their expertise and time. (We are not money managers and we are not selling any products or services)

Are the meetings held online?

The Fall 2023 series will be held online, allowing for women to participate from across the country and the world. We will meet for three hours for each session, broken into 90 minute meetings in the morning ( 10 to 11:30 a.m. PST ) and afternoon (1 to 2:30 p.m.PST), punctuated with a break for lunch.

When will the series be offered next?

The next cohort starts in Fall 2023, with the first meeting on September 14th. The foundational educational series runs for six weeks on Thursdays from September 14th through October 19th. We meet online from 10 to 11:30 a.m. PST and reconvene from 1 to 2:30 a.m. PST.

We are dedicated to creating and sustaining a community of passionate, socially progressive women with wealth, focused on providing deep personal attention and connection. For this reason, we accept new members into small cohorts only once a year.

What is the invitation-only speaker series included in the membership?

We have pioneering women in investing share their opinions and advice on topics such as values-aligned investing, the gender investing gap and innovative ways to use your capital for change. Our inaugural speaker was Sallie Krawcheck, CEO of Ellevest and former CEO of leading Wall Street investment firms including Smith Barney, US Trust and Citi Private Bank among others.

For example, we had an illuminating and inspiring discussion with Sonya Dreizler and Rachel Robasciotti about what we can do as women with wealth to support racial justice in this country through our investment choices. Other speakers have included Margo Cook, former co-president of Nuveen Investments, one of the largest asset managers in the world and Jen Risher, author of We Need To Talk: A Memoir About Wealth.

What makes Women with Capital a pitch-free zone?

The instructors are paid for their time and expertise, which is reflected in our fees. Unlike other venues where speakers either pay for the opportunity to reach a desirable audience or expect to get business from the engagement, our speakers do not have the goal of securing your business.

We also require each participant to agree to not pitch their services, favorite projects or investments to the others.

We maintain strict confidentiality and do not share or sell any data at all--ever.

Is this program designed for any particular age group?

Topics are tailored to the concerns of women who want to build and preserve wealth for themselves and their families while, at the same time, giving thought to the difference they want to make in the world. The program is highly customized and based around a cohort of women with similar concerns and is open to all ages.

Can I share this announcement with other women?

You are welcome to refer people to the program individually or in forums for socially progressive, philanthropic women. In this way, we seek to create a diverse and trusted community. We are looking for a select group of women who meet the participant eligibility and who want to take control of their money and use it to make a difference.
